The "Lost" Future

I usually saw kids in this area after my night classes in the college of law almost two years ago. These kids begged for coins or food.

At first I thought the sight was rather unusual. But it quickly became ordinary after I got to see it on a daily basis.

In one hot weekday I stumbled upon these two kids on a skywalk. They caught my attention.

It was such a sad spectacle seeing one of them smoking. I noticed, by looking at their facial expressions, that that they were talking about something serious.

The sight got me thinking: With the harsh realities of life, what future do they have?
